What's a Wiki?

Well, a great definition of a wiki can be found here. But simply put, a wiki is a website that allows a lot of information to be entered and crosslinked to create a reference. Perhaps the most well known wiki is Wikipedia, which is quickly becoming the internet standard for reference materials.

Why A Wiki?

And why not a normal website? Well, wikis make it VERY easy for many people to collaborate on the work, linking to new or existing articles very simply.

What's this wiki for?

The Mizu Iwa Wiki (or MIWiki, pronounced Mee - wih - kee) is intended as a resource for Karate-ka in our Dojo and beyond. It is certainly open to the public, but is intended as an online reference describing Isshinryu Karate and (to a lesser extent) Martial Arts in general.

What do the different link colors mean?

Blue text links to pages that already have content on them. Red text links to articles that haven't yet been created. Remember, a wiki is never done. There are always new pages to create and new information to add.

How do I add content?

Easy. First, request an account. For now, the ability to create and edit articles is limited to registered users. This may change in te future. To request an account, send an email to mailto:admin@mizuiwa.com. Once you have an account, you can either create a page by following a red link or typing a search term in the box to the left.
